Does the GAP 80 needs a specific preparation?
NO, the UV putty needs thesame preparations as a normal putty : degreasing with DGR, sanding with P80-150 & dusting.
Can I use a normal sealant gun to apply GAP 80?
YES, a standard sealing gun for 310ml cartridges can be used to apply the UV putty
Does GAP 80 need a specific hardener?
NO, there is no hardener needed to activate the curing. Curing will occur when the putty is exposed to UV radiation.
Do I need a specific putty spreader/knife to apply GAP 80?
NO, a normal putty spreader/knife can be used to apply the UV putty.
Will the GAP 80 dry with normal sunlight?
In theory sunlight can cure the UV putty but the sun does not produce constant radiation. This can result in a not fully cured layer which results in adhesion problems.
Which drying equipment can be used to cure GAP 80?
A UV curing device with a radiation between 360nm-390nm (UV-A) and a curing surface radiation of 7mw/cm2 can be used to cure the UV putty. For more info consult the UV putty TDS.
Which coatings can be used for re-coating GAP 80?
The UV putty can be coated with polyester spray putty, UV primer/filler, PU & acrylic primers and gelcoats.
Can I use GAP 80 on bumpers?
YES, UV putty can be used on bumpers, use normal surface preparation and apply a light coat of TSP 030 – adhesion promotor. With a 5 minutes flash-off before applying the UV putty.
